Here's how it works:
Select your motorcycle model and decide whether you want to add the license plate holder with integrated taillight (including license plate illumination and E-number ) or LED indicators ( E-number ).

Special case: SWM

The taillight cannot be configured, as the original SWM taillight must still be used. A license plate light is included with every SWM holder.

Easy installation:
The PlateSnap license plate holder attaches directly to your motorcycle's original mounting points. No drilling is required, and you do n't need any prior technical knowledge !

Unfortunately, the rear design of the SWM models is somewhat awkward, requiring modification of the rear plastic part. (Note: If you wish to revert to the original design, the replacement part can be ordered online for a few euros.)

As you can see in the following picture, the plastic needs to be cut along the red line. This can be done by sawing, grinding, or breaking – however, we don't recommend breaking it , as it can lead to rough edges, as you can see in the photo ;)

After this modification, the PlateSnap holder can be easily installed and wired!

Another special feature of the SWM is that the original taillight remains in place and the PlateSnap holder only includes a new MINI LED license plate light.

PlateSnap locking pin:

The PlateSnap locking pin provides additional security for the license plate on the motorcycle. We recommend having the pin installed on every ride.

PlateSnap Safety Screw:

The M5 screw allows you to modify the license plate holder so that it is no longer removable. So, if you're concerned about the appearance of the license plate holder but don't want a removable license plate, you can simply screw it in place with this screw.

Important instructions:

When converting to LED indicators, a load-independent indicator relay is usually necessary; you can find one here , for example.

According to current German legislation, our PlateSnap license plate holders do not require ABE (General Operating Permit) or E-marking. However, legal regulations must be observed during installation (e.g., turn signal spacing, viewing angle, reflector requirements, etc.).

The proper installation and compliance with all road traffic regulations is solely the responsibility of the buyer or vehicle owner.

To ensure compliance with the minimum distance for turn signals prescribed in Germany, we recommend our optionally available turn signal extensions .

The optional taillight and optional turn signals are equipped with "Japanese plugs"!
